My Guidance
Ways to enhance a properties energy rating can be many. No one property is the same therefore careful consideration is required when assessing the options.

What are the MEES Standards
Government are introducing "Minimum Energy Efficiency Standards" for the private rental sector. Landlords must meet the regulations, those that do not face penalties. Properties will need to achieve EPC band C at change in tenancy from 2025, and in all properties by 2028.

Why I became an Energy Assessor
As a Landlord myself, I was concerned about the potential high costs of upgrading my properties to meet the new standards. Wanting to better understand the overall situation, I decided to become an accredited domestic energy assessor. Now, I find myself in a unique position where I can help other Landlords/Individuals. Elmhurst Energy who I'm accredited with are considered by far the leader in their field.

My own experience
Two of my older properties were band E, previous to my training band D was my goal. Now, things are very much different. Band C is more achievable than one might think and it does not always have to cost a fortune.
