Some information on PAT Testing

Commonly known and referred to over the years as PAT Testing.  Within the new IET 5th Edition Code of Practice comes a range of changes.  A significant one being the change of the name from PAT Testing (Portable Appliance Testing) to EET (Electrical Equipment Testing).  

Whether its referred to as PAT, EET or Appliance testing, don't worry its referring to the same thing. 

All Electrical Equipment must be tested for safety.  Appliances with a plug including fixed appliances which are hard wired, they all require regular testing.

Why PAT Testing is so important - Over 25% of domestic fires are caused by faulty appliances.  Hence the importance of regular testing and why it is required by law.

Fees

Using bespoke testing equipment allows me to keep my prices low.  

Fees depend on the type of job and amount of items to be tested.  I generally offer prices charged per item but I can also offer fixed prices where possible.
